1. DEFINITION
WHAT IS IT? Everybody has the right to access to spanish public healthcare. It is a universal right.
To access the Valencian health system, individuals will have a health care assistance document (Know as SIP). This document will only be valid in the Valencian Community. As a general criterion, a minimum of three months of municipal registration (empadronamiento) must be demonstrated to process the health card.
What if the person is not registered?
They will receive healthcare if:
- They are pregnant.
- They are a minor.
- They have serious emergencies.
IMPORTANT:
To access healthcare for special situations, it is necessary to request an appointment with the social worker of the health center.
HOW TO OBTAIN:
To process the health card, you need to go to the health centers in the area where you are registered and/or living.
